Facts about Additive Masterbatches

Masterbatches are used for colouring; plastic colouring is also done with the help of master batches. Through the process of heating, the addition of resin, and cooling, which converts them into granular form, masterbatches are made. There are a variety of masterbatches available. The colour masterbatch is used for the manufacture of plastics; they are vibrant and granular to look at, and are also very useful. Another type of masterbatch is called additive masterbatches. Additive masterbatches, which are concentrated in granules, are used to modify thermoplastics. They have more additives or a carrier resin, specifically polymer. Master batches are fashionable and have great performance across industries and applications of plastics. They are economical, and hence, they are supplied to various industries.

The Master Batch Company manufactures additive masterbatches. Many masterbatch companies manufacture different types of masterbatches all over India. An additive masterbatch contains additives from the very name additive, meaning many additives are manufactured by the addition of one or more additives. Some of the additives that a masterbatch contains are:

  • UV stabilizer
  • Foaming and anti-blocking agents
  • Anti-oxidants
  • Agents for remoulding and lubricants are also present in the additives of masterbatches.
  • Antistatic agents and mattifying agents are also found in additives in masterbatches.
  • Diffusers
  • Agents of nucleation
  • Additives that are used for laser marking can also be found in additive masterbatches.
  • Deactivators for metals and copper are also used in masterbatches.
  • IR absorbers for laser welding of plastics are also used in additive masterbatches.
